What is a feedback and revision tracker?
A feedback and revision tracker is a simple document that logs every piece of client feedback and how it was addressed across each revision round. It creates a clear paper trail of changes, so there's no confusion about what was requested and what was delivered.
It also makes revision limits enforceable. When a client can see they've used their three included rounds, the conversation about additional revision fees becomes much easier.
When should you use one?
Any project that involves revision rounds - design, copywriting, web development, video editing. Start the tracker after presenting the first draft and update it with each round of feedback.
What's included
Revision round number - which round of revisions this is and whether it's within the included rounds or additional.
Feedback received - the client's comments, copied verbatim or summarised clearly. Date-stamped.
Changes made - what you did in response to each piece of feedback.
Items flagged - any feedback that conflicts with the brief, contradicts earlier feedback, or falls outside the original scope.
Status - whether each item is complete, in progress, or requires client clarification.
Running total - a count of rounds used versus rounds included, making it easy to see when additional fees apply.
