What is a case study?

A case study tells the story of a project you completed - the challenge, your approach, and the results. It's the most persuasive content you can create as a freelancer because it shows potential clients what you can do, not just what you say you can do.

When should you use one?

After completing a project with strong results - especially one that's relevant to the type of work you want to attract more of. Include case studies on your website, in proposals, and share them on LinkedIn.

What's included

Client overview - who the client is, what they do, and any relevant context about their business or industry.

The challenge - what problem the client was facing and why they needed your help.

Your approach - how you tackled the project. Your process, key decisions, and why you took the approach you did.

The solution - what you delivered. Include visuals - screenshots, photos, or mockups of the final work.

Results - the impact of your work. Use numbers where possible.

Client quote - a testimonial from the client that reinforces the story.
